Kindergarten
Kindergarten is an introduction to the Spanish language. We spend the first several weeks of school learning what "language" means, exploring how we communicate, and the distinction between English and Spanish. In Kindergarten, much of the curriculum is "noun-based," concentrating on concrete examples of the Spanish language such as colors, numbers, and shapes. We also explore student-centered vocabulary such as basic greetings and feelings.
Units of Study: These videos introduce each unit of study with all of the vocabulary covered in class.
Want to help your student?
Given the short amount of weekly class time, practice outside of class is absolutely necessary! Review these videos with your student. Make flashcards, play games, or simply familiarize yourself with the content. Even having brief daily conversations with students about what they are learning in Spanish class can reinforce class lessons, and help your student achieve fluency. Each video reviews every vocabulary word, including proper pronunciation.
